Stephanie Parker

ANimal anthropomorphism

Stephanie Parker (she/her) is a Southampton-based artist and illustrator with a degree in Illustration, known for her unique focus on animal anthropomorphism. Her work is heavily influenced by Victorian-era figures such as taxidermist Walter Potter and illustrator Louis Wain, blending their historical styles with her own surreal and occasionally uncanny approach.

Her art practice involves needle felting intricate animals and hand stitching garments on them. She often gives each creature a name and a back story. She has created a few dioramas including a Hamster gym, A pub for robins and a frog woodland car chase. Her work is often created with the aim to make the viewer laugh and feel childhood nostalgia.
