J Pyrite is a multidisciplinary artist with a passion for abstraction and a fixation on acrylic paints. Their favourite themes to explore are trauma and recovery, the mythologisation of lived experiences, and resonant patterns in individual and collective consciousnesses.

Having graduated with a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Southampton in 2023, J Pyrite often draws on the interlocking natures of science and spirituality in their creative practices. Everything we learn about the world brings us closer to understanding the truth of the realities we inhabit, and so Pyrite values unapologetic vibrancy in self-expression: every work of art is another discovery, another facet of existence, another mystery revealed.

When J Pyrite is not developing their theories about the universe by slapping a palette knife against a canvas, they are likely writing or performing poetry.
